WV folklore report

My name is William Adkins.

I have chose to use this website format option to present my report on WV Folklore.

My study of WV Folklore began in many text books I gathered from local libraries. I found many interesting stories on spirits and superstitions but the most intrigging story I found was the one I had to piece together myself. I had found a book called Appalachian Ghost stories and other tales of the supernatural. I had read the first page in a chapter titled " Dr. Jebadiah Weaver, the tale of an Appalachain Medicine Man". When I noticed the remaining pages of the chapter had been removed. This could have been just simply the work of vandals of maybe someone trying to hide information on the past. Either way it added to the allure of this particular character. More so than the other stories I have read. With little information that was left on just that one page stated that Dr. Jebadiah Weaver was a practing " Witch" doctor of sorts. He had lived some time during the 1800's in what is now Roane County, WV.
